PEOPLE diagnosed with cancer are flocking a Chipinge house in the low-density suburb of the farming town where a prophet-cum -sangoma claims he has a cure for the chronic disease.
Colbert Muusha (23) who is popularly known as Prophet Colbert in Chipinge, claims he had successfully treated at least 10 people suffering from the disease, among them well known people, while others come from as far as South Africa.
Prophet Colbert claimed that he was capable of treating all the types of cancer because he got his medication through dreams.
When approached by The Manica Post recently, the soft spoken prophet, said for years he was not helping people fearing a backlash from Government, doctors and NGOs.
“I am a traditional healer registered under the laws of this country. I have treated more than 10 patients who come back to me testifying that they would have completely recovered. Most of the people diagnosed with the disease approach me when their health condition would have deteriorated, but I managed to save their lives.
“I have my colleagues in Nigeria who send me some of the herbs which are not readily available here. These herbs can cure different types of cancer, ‘’he said.
Asked if he was not duping people, the prophet-cum-sangoma, said he would never do that as his ancestors would revoke his healing powers for being unprofessional.
“For me cancer is a curable disease just like any other disease. Ask those have passed through my healing sessions, they will confirm that.
“I will never dupe people because our profession requires professionalism. We do not want to anger our ancestors. We are not doing this for survival, but it is a calling to heal people. I tried to resist this calling at first, but I got a terrible backlash from my ancestors.
“I am different from other prophets who are in this work for mileage as I believe that your good work with the public can take you far. I don’t have any problems with my patients visiting hospitals for check-ups after being healed,” he said.
Apart from curing cancer, Prophet Colbert claimed that he had healing solutions for diseases such as bareness, epileptic, STIs and diabetes.
