Chipinge toddler missing

Herald Reporter
A toddler has gone missing in Chipinge after his grandmother left him alone as she went to work in the fields. The boy (2) is light in complexion. The paternal grandmother left Chris Bere sleeping in the house on December 11. The child is suspected to have woken up and started playing outside and later disappeared.

The boy’s maternal grandfather Mr David Sifuwe said Chris went to stay with his grandmother when his mother Lorraine Bere, who stays in Masvingo, got a job.

When the child went missing, his footprints were found a few metres from the house, but the trail did not go far. Mr Sifuwe said they did not suspect any foul play, since most people were not around in the village by the time the boy went missing.

He said the matter was reported to the police. Mr Sifuwe is appealing to anyone with information on the whereabouts of the child to contact him on 0775 095 970 or Mrs Sifuwe on 0773 529 269 or report to the nearest police station.
