CHIPO is back and she’s not holding back!
Zimbabwe’s fan-favourite TV drama Chipo The Gift has returned with a bang for its fourth season, hitting the ZBC small screen on 30 June at 7:30 PM. And this time, it is personal, political and powerful.

Now taking centre stage as Chipo is actress Gamuchirai Mukwakwami, who has already won over fans with her raw performance as the now-grown girl who went from victim to warrior turned social worker.
“It’s not just a role, it’s a mission. I don’t even prepare. I just feel it. It’s God’s gift,” said Mukwakwami.
Season 4 dives deep into child marriage, gender-based violence, femicide and the fast-spreading scourge of youth drug abuse, delivering gut-punching scenes that leave viewers emotional and inspired.
“We wanted Chipo to model action, not just survival,” said series creator Virginia Jekanyika. “The pain is real. The healing is real. We had to be honest.”
The show’s emotional direction is the work of Nakai Tsuro, who let actors dig into real-life trauma to deliver authentic scenes.
“Sometimes it’s so raw, the crew goes silent,” said Tsuro. “Even the funny moments, like Baba Chipo stealing soil at night, hit different.”
Backed by the Pamoja Project and Young Africa, the production team is not just chasing ratings, which sit at a whopping 3.2 million per episode. They are chasing change.
“This is about impact. Social media, YouTube feedback and outreach are part of the mission,” said producer Daves Guzha, hinting at regional expansion and community projects tied to the show.
Chipo’s message is simple: You can survive. You can fight back. And you can lead.
Catch the fire every week and join the movement that’s got a nation talking.
