Chiredzi FC continue to sing the blues

THE going seems to be getting tougher for new Premier Soccer League outfit Chiredzi FC after they were overtaken by Harare City to remain anchored at the bottom of the table.
With eight fixtures played, the Moses Chunga coached side has only managed to collect five points from a possible 24 which shows how poor they have started.

The outspoken Chunga though seems to be putting on a brave face when all is not well in his camp as they have failed to record a home victory at Chishamiso Stadium with fans now boycotting matches.

“Nyuchi Dzegonera” were left singing the blues by forceful Dyanamos striker Patrick “Mboma” Khumbula who used to play for the now defunct Hippo Valley FC at the same venue.

Chunga is however optimistic that his team will rise to the occasion but the reality on the ground is proving otherwise.
Bambo whose beleaguered side is nursing defeats nearly every week, has ruled out the possibility of looking for greener pastures.

The former Warriors kingpin pointed out that he has no plans to leave the Lowveld side. He is still working on a winning formula.
“Chiredzi FC is not a bad team as you might think. We have created so many goal scoring opportunities but we are failing to bury them. Football like any other sport is measured on winning but unfortunately for us we have not been winning.

“My CV will not be affected because a team has lost some matches. Do you think those teams we play against are just getting points on a silver platter? They have to work hard because we are not just adding numbers in the league,” said Chunga.

With the Premier League clock ticking every minute, Chiredzi FC have a mountain to climb as they have to rise to the occasion or prepare for relegation.
