ZIMBABWE International Tawanda Chirewa comes face-to-face with former Warriors star Tendayi Darikwa when Huddersfield Town face Lincoln City at the LNER Tuesday night.
Darikwa, a key player for Lincoln, with five goals and three assists playing fullback, quit the Warriors and never got the opportunity to play along with Chirewa.
Chirewa on the other hand is a Wolves player on loan at Huddersfield, and he is considered a rising star for the Warriors.
In their preview of the match, Huddersfield highlights Darikwa’s danger as they push for a place in the play-offs.
“With experience of winning Sky Bet League One, right-back Tendayi Darikwa has impressed in his first season in Lincoln colours,” said Huddersfield on their website.
“The former Zimbabwe international won the title with Wigan Athletic in the 2021/22 season. The defender has contributed five goals and three assists from right-back, highlighting the dynamic and offensive tactics of Skubala’s side.”
Chirewa, who is not certain to start tonight, is coming from a successful international outing with Zimbabwe where he silenced Nigeria in the last of two games, scoring a last minute equaliser in Uyo to derail the Super Eagles in a 1-1 draw.
