CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe is set to unleash Denver Mukamba in their Castle Lager Premiership match against Bulawayo Chiefs at Luveve tomorrow. Makepekepe were held to a goalless draw by Harare City in their first game. Chitembwe has reshuffled the squad and drafted in Mukamba and dropped Wisdom Mutasa from the travelling squad.
Although Chitembwe had hinted he would consider Mukamba after three weeks due to fitness concerns, the gaffer seems happy with the progress the player has made.
Mukamba was forced out of DeMbare by coach Lloyd Mutasa after their relationship collapsed.
Makepekepe will have to wait a bit longer before they can have some of their high-profile signings — Method Mwanjali and Oscar Machapa — who are still waiting for their reverse international clearances.
Machapa had initially been overlooked by Chitembwe, but was roped in last week as a replacement for captain Hardlife Zvirekwi who lost part of his hand in an accident.
Defender Justice Jangano has urged his teammates to come to the party against Bulawayo Chiefs.
“As players, I think we never came to the party against Harare City. Although we are still coming from the off-season, it is not an excuse to perform poorly,” said Jangano.
“We never did what we were expected to do, it was such a disappointing match, to say the least.
“We were supposed to take all the three points home.
“We cannot repeat the same mistakes, we need to respect the opponents we are playing, but at the same time we must make sure that they feel we are CAPS United.
“As a big club, big things are always expected from us, so we should perform better than we did against Harare City.
“It’s a tricky battle against an unpredictable team, but we have to find a way of overcoming them.”
