A 42-year-old Chitungwiza woman succumbed to injuries sustained last Wednesday when she was stabbed by her husband with a kitchen knife following a misunderstanding.
Lillian Nherera sustained a deep cut on her left side, just below the jaw, and was rushed to Chitungwiza Hospital.
She was later transferred to Parirenyatwa Hospital where she died on Sunday.
Her husband, Cashtalk Matambo, 45, allegedly stabbed her and left her bleeding in their bedroom in Unit K.
One of their children, Blessing Matambo, 21, heard the two quarrelling and rushed to his grandmother’s house, where she pleaded for help.
Cashtalk is now facing murder charges.
He appeared at the Chitungwiza Magistrate Court and was remanded in custody to September 17.
