A 20-YEAR-OLD Chitungwiza man has invented a unique self-powered peanut butter grinding machine using liberal batteries.

In an interview with H-Metro, Lashimode Matimura, said he came up with the idea in the wake of power outages.

“The machine is portable and can work throughout the day because it charges itself.

“The idea is to try and reduce the cost of electricity.

“This machine has an advantage, especially in rural areas, where there might not be any power at all.” Matimura revealed the challenges he has been facing after his invention.

“The major problem that I am facing is lack of support since my wish is to make this product huge and help the country.

“When I started designing the peanut butter grinding machine, it took me two months because I had no equipment.

“I was using some scrap material and old material.

“I hope God will open doors for sponsorship so that I can manufacture peanut butter machines on a large scale to benefit the country,” said Matimura.
