Chitungwiza Hospital holds prayer day

SEVERAL pastors from different denominations in Chitungwiza and their followers, on Sunday gathered at Chitungwiza Central Hospital to provide spiritual support for patients and the hospital.Vice chairperson of the Chitungwiza Hospital Pastors Fellowship Reverend Watson Furayi said the aim of their fellowship was to assist the hospital to raise funds for the disadvantaged patients who sought treatment from the hospital.

“Some patients might not have bus fare to go back to their homes after being discharged from the hospital, while others might have different problems. This is the aim of our fellowship to respond to such needs when they arise,” said Rev Furayi.

He said Sunday’s occasion saw a number of pastors from AFM, Zaoga, United Methodist, Anglican, Roman Catholic, Mugodhi and several other pentecostal churches taking part in the prayer day.

Hundreds of followers also came to support the event. The different denominations later on donated groceries and blankets to the hospital.

Gospel musician Blessing Shumba, who also graced the occasion, also played some of his popular songs.
