GOSPEL champion, Reverend Togarepi Chivaviro, is aiming to end his career in style when he launches his 20th album on Sunday.

After recording over 100 songs and featuring at least 31 local and 11 international artists over the years, Chivaviro feels he has done it all.

He, however, says he will now take the back seat.

The Ebenezer hit-maker, has decided to pursue his calling in nurturing young talent.

“I have done it all and it’s time I shift my focus to play the father figure by helping upcoming artists find their feet. I’m not quitting music entirely, but I’m just slowing down to focus on other areas of the ministry.

“Fans should still expect a couple of singles from me once in a while only when need grows,” said Chivaviro.

Some of the big names that worked with Chivaviro include the late superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, Sipho Makhabane, Machanic Manyeruke, Leonard Zhakata, Buhle, Peter Mparutsa, Mathias Mhere and Blessing Shumba, among others.

The launch of Chivaviro’s 20th album on Sunday, will be streamed live from his UK base.

“It’s all systems go for the album launch on Sunday and the day coincides with my birthday.

“The new album carries six songs, including a duet with Sipho Makhabane titled Famba Usacheuke.

“The album will be streamed live through global giant TuneCore and will be available on at least 37 online platforms, including iTunes, Spotify, Yahoo Music and Google Play,” he said.

He said he has succumbed to the pressure that comes with releasing albums and accompanying videos hence he will dedicate the time and resources into nurturing young artists.

Chivaviro also revealed that he will only perform at private events by invite.

The musician recorded his first album Peace, Hope and Love (1999), followed by Power (2000), Komborerai Africa (2002), Kuna Mwari Zvitaure — Hymnal Praise Volume 1 (2004), The Best of Rev Chivaviro Vol 1 (2006), The Return (2009) and Nguva Yakanakisa — Hymnal Praise Volume 2 (2010).
