Harare businessman, Wicknell Chivayo, who was being accused of defrauding the Zimbabwe Power Company has been found not guilty and acquitted by a Harare court.

Chivayo appeared before magistrate Lazini Ncube who upheld his application for refusal of further remand of the matter and requested a not guilty verdict.

In his ruling, the magistrate noted that there has been an unreasonable delay in prosecuting Chivayo and his company.

The State was initially opposed to the application.
