A BUDIRIRO 2 man was hauled to court for malicious damage to property at Sally Mugabe General Hospital car park.
Kelvin Khoza, 45, who is an undertaker at Geora Funeral Services, pleaded guilty to intentionally damaging five vehicle clamps by forcibly removing them from clamped vehicles.
According to the State on March 7, the hospital security guard clamped five vehicles belonging to different funeral parlours.
The vehicles had been parked at an undesignated place despite several warnings.
Khoza went to the car park and used an iron rod to forcefully remove the clamps.
He was spotted by a security guard, Ellias Mapoore, who informed other guards.
Khoza turned violent when they confronted him.
“The vehicles were being requested at work and I had no choice but to forcibly remove the clamps,” Khoza said.
Mbare Magistrate, Priviledge Gakanje, fined Khoza US$100 and ordered him to pay $299 297 for the property he damaged.
