THE second edition of the Chivero Rhino Run is scheduled to take place this Saturday with more than 300 participants expected to take part in the fun run.

Events on offer include 21km, 10km and 5km races. The event is organised by Ecotourism Africa in partnership with Zimbabwe National Parks as well as Sports Tourism Incorporated to promote awareness and appreciation of domestic tourism.

Public relations and marketing director Ecotourism Africa and Sports Tourism incorporated Malvin Kanjere said this year it’s strictly fun run.

“On this year’s Chivero Rhino Run we are expecting between 300 to 500 fun runners and this one is a fun run strictly.

“Registration is not closing, remember this is a fun run, we want people to come and enjoy the animals. We want people to come and enjoy the scenery, we want them to run for fun, to run for the rhino.

“So you can even register on the day by the gate. But probably we are going to have cut-off time to run so that people get into other activities and so far we have had almost 170 athletes that have registered in our books,” said Kanjere.

They will also have beach volleyball, game walks, fishing and game drives among other activities.
