Chiwundura man on the run after attacking granny over witchcraft

A 24-year-old Chiwundura man is on the run after he struck twice his 84-year-old granny with an axe after accusing her of witchcraft.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson Insp Emmanuel Mahoko said the granny is admitted at St Theresa Hospital in Mvuma where her condition is said to be critical.

“Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect  Akim Mazani (24) after he went into hiding after he struck her grandmother whom he accused of witchcraft on Monday night. The grandmother is admitted in hospital,” said Insp Mahoko.
