Chris Brown’s trial was postponed to today as his bodyguard is seeking immunity to testify in the case after he was found guilty of assault in a separate trial.
The 24-year-old star was due to appear before a judge in Washington D.C. to face misdemeanour assault charges on Monday, but the case was delayed after his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, was found guilty in a separate trial.
Both men were arrested in the city in October for allegedly breaking Parker Adams’ nose when he tried to insert himself in a photograph that the singer was taking with two female fans outside the W Hotel.

The judge decided to delay the ‘’Fine China’’ hitmaker’s case to enable attorneys to work out issues over testimony from his bodyguard, who will be sentenced on June 25.

The star’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, previously indicated that Hollosy would testify at his client’s trial, during which he was expected to say that he punched Parker and not Chris.

However, the trial was delayed because Hollosy’s lawyer told the judge that he plans to appeal his conviction and unless prosecutors grant Hollosy immunity, testifying in Brown’s case could affect his appeal.

Prosecutors said that an appeal could take a year but Chris’ lawyer wants to move ahead with the case.
He said: “I don’t think that there’s any doubt Chris Brown is not guilty and that shall be proved in court.”- Sowetan.
