CHRIS Goldfinger on Friday gave reggae lovers a night to remember at Club Eden in Bulawayo and showed why he is the most sought after club DJ in Europe and Jamaica as he rocked the nightspot.
Flying in from his England base, the DJ arrived in the city accompanied by DJs Kivo Santana and Jamie Cee both from Harare who set the tone for Goldfinger before he got on the decks.
It was an all out reggae party and those who love the genre were having the time of their lives as Kivo Santana and Jamie Cee played old and new school dancehall and reggae tunes.
The dance floor was jam packed with revellers showing off their nimble feet.
Goldfinger started his set a little after midnight with Bob Marley’s Iron, Lion, Zion, mixed up with some hip hop beats, the blend was perfect.
Truly when one says Goldfinger is a club DJ and see him on the decks there is a vast difference with what patrons were used to at the night spot.
His set was interesting enough to keep the dance floor full with most people shuttling between it and the bar which was a hive of activity the entire night.
Those who had decided to house themselves in the newly opened Casino Bar could not resist leaving their VIP bar and going into where the action was in the main club.
After an hour of an exhilarating, fast paced and non-stop set Goldfinger took a break and let DJs Kananjo, Keezy and Slamma take over the decks and the trio did not disappoint.
After the 30 minute break Goldfinger took over and started from where he left until the wee hours of Saturday.
An avid follower of Chris Goldfinger, Aubrey Ncube summed up the night for all revellers.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I’ve been following Goldfinger since my days in the UK and this man is a legend.
“When I heard that he was coming to town I called all my friends who are also back home from the Diaspora and told them he would be in town.
“We came and we weren’t disappointed, he still has the touch that we knew him for from our days in UK,” he said
