CHRIST Embassy Church is committed towards supporting charity work aimed at changing lives of less privileged people, a leading music promoter has said.
The church’s commitment towards helping the needy came to light when they handed over food hampers to musicians who were struggling to make ends meet during the Covid-19 induced lockdown, added the promoter.
Speaking to H-Metro ahead of the 12th Chipaz Bhora charity match slated for DZ Stadium on April 1, event organiser, Partson Chimbodza, said:
“We are humbled by the good work demonstrated by the Christ Embassy Church, who have been supporting my initiatives.
“At the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the church supported the musicians with food hampers and we are happy they are also sponsoring our charity match.
“We have a God given relationship with Christ Embassy through Pastor Ruth who has always supported my initiatives whole-heartedly,” he said.
He added:
“We are happy that the Lord has blessed our initiatives through the partnership relations we enjoy with the church.
“We are looking forward to a good turnout to ensure that we raise a lot towards charity.
“Fans should come in numbers as we are looking forward to the event.”
Meanwhile, preparations for the event, which is set to coincide with Freeman’s homecoming party in Dzivaresekwa are well on course.
The Sungura and Zim dancehall soccer teams, which are set to take part in the 2023 Chipaz Bhora Tournament, will start training next week.
Zimpapers FC will play against Christ Embassy FC while UZ Legends Vigilance FC are set to take on Drunkards FC.
Sungura musicians will also square up against their Zim dancehall artists in the match of the day.
After the soccer matches, an all-night musical gala will be held at the same venue.
Remington Gold, Bike Delivery, Luxe interior, Autohitch Motors and Primus Energy are some of the sponsors behind the event.
The tournament is part of Chipaz Promotions’ corporate and social responsibility.
