Christen Mirror unites Beitbridge artistes for music tour to promote Tshivenda Music

Beitbridge-based musician Christen Mirror is set to make his dream a reality by uniting local artistes for a music tour aimed at popularising Tshivenda music.

The inaugural concert will take place at Makhado Complex, located about 90kms from Beitbridge along the Bulawayo-Beitbridge road, on December 21.

The event will feature performances by Christen Mirror, Bhadilah, Kyrstal Wamrepa, Defeat The Vocalist, Jex Waga, Charks SA, DJ Bheris, and MC Roxy from Lotsha FM, with surprise acts planned for the night.

Christen Mirror shared that the purpose of the event is to foster an appreciation of Tshivenda music, both in Beitbridge and the surrounding areas.

“The goal is to promote Tshivenda music from a regional to national level. I’m inspired by the idea of watching this music grow and giving Tshivenda musicians a stage to showcase their art. We want to help the community recognise the value of their mother tongue,” he said.

The tour will start at Makhado Complex before moving to Beitbridge Town, which has a more diverse tribal population compared to the rural areas.

“The line-up reflects the diverse genres and abundant talent in Beitbridge, and we want to ensure that this talent grows beyond our borders.”
