VERSATILE Plumtree-born artiste Forgive Nkomo, popularly known as Teekay Mxoexic, is not just making music in 2026 as he is making moves after recently hinting on relocating back to Zimbabwe.
The musician, director of ceremonies and events curator who is based in South Africa has joined a number of returning Zimbabweans who have found solace once back home.
Already, Teekay Mxoexic said he was in the country for a couple of months were he settled quite well with a couple of gigs lined up as he takes his experience from neighbouring South African industry to the local one.
“My 2026 gig guide for August saw me being part of events in Bulilima and Tsholotsho. Over the weekend l was part of the All White Rhumba show in Bulawayo. On September 12 l head back to Bulawayo fpr the YouGon show at the University of Johannesburg.
“On October 30, l will be part of Godolude’s album launch in Kezi and the following day will be at the Rhumba Dance Festival at Tsholotsho Business Centre. I have more festive seasons appearances lineup too ans l am quite settling well in my own country,” said Teekay Mxoexic.
He said he is currently working on what he calls his most amazing song and music video yet.
“I have a powerful collaboration featuring Mxolisi Mr Bones (Faka 2 hitmaker), Bio Mudimba (Kujatajata hitmaker) and Dave from Hwange. The song is dedicated to Hwange Colliery (HCCL).
“As a curator, l have managed to do what many failed to do, which is to unite artistes. I curated, combined and united artistes in one song titled Induku Enhle Medley featuring Ma9ine, Bhila, La Dee, Prince Khumalo, Novuyo Seagirl and Tee x Tekie. The track was produced by Ntu2kay and Tflow,” said Teekay Mxoexic.
Teekay is the founder of multiple companies that include Rhumba News Zw, The Blues TV, Unsilenced Clothing Brand whose ambassadors include Dawn Thandeka King, WearOnlineBoutique, TeamBlessedHustle Ent, Nkanyezi Foundation Aid and Zim Rhumba Movement.
As a philanthropist through his Nkanyezi Foundation Aid, Teekay Mxoexic has donated clothes at Ndolwane’s Lady Baring Hospital and donated stationery to children in Tsholotsho.
He is also known for sponsoring other artistes by buying tickets for their fans to attend their events.
The artiste said this has been his most active year yet, both on stage and off stage.
“I want to congratulate myself as this year I bought myself a car, I paid lobola and I managed to drill a borehole (umgodi) at my home in Ndolwane, Bulilima District. That’s big for a boy from Plumtree,” said Teekay Mxoexic.
