EASTER is arguably one of the most important and oldest Christian festivals, as Christians from across the world and various denominations celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead after his crucifixion. Biblically, Christ’s death and resurrection should be celebrated concurrently with the Jewish Passover. However, this has not been the case, as Easter is now celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox.
This method of determining the date of Easter often results in Easter being before Passover and or displaced far from Passover. Easter can thus now be potentially observed anywhere between 22 March and 25 April.
