Spreading love and kindness this holiday season, Tinevimbo Matambanadzo, the founder of As I Am Foundation, Zimbabwe Endometriosis Support Network, and Woman Rise, organized a special Christmas celebration for 40 individuals living on the streets of Harare Avenues area and Union Square park.

This selfless act of generosity embodies the true spirit of Christmas, reminding us that everyone deserves dignity, compassion, and joy, regardless of their circumstances.

She revealed that during their outreach, they met individuals of all ages from infants to seniors living on the streets.

“Their stories revealed a complex web of challenges, some shared that they had fled their home due to struggles with drug addiction, and others had been born on the streets and knew no other life,” she said.

She noted that unemployment was another common thread highlighting the need for support and resources to help these vulnerable individuals rebuild their lives.

Matambanadzo noted that her motivation oh her heart for people in need, and Christmas is an important reminder that while many enjoy festive cheer, others face hardship and loneliness.

“I am driven to help those living on the streets, who are often estranged from the loved ones and may go without a good meal on Christmas day,” she noted.

“I wanted to show them that they are seen, valued and deserving, regardless of their circumstances,” she added.
