YESTERYEAR football great, Mosses Chunga, took some time out to meet ex-Highlanders midfielder Honour Gombami and former Dynamos winger Bill Antonio in Belgium.
Currently visiting his former club, Eendracht Aalst Lede, where he played from 1988 to 1992, Chunga is highly regarded and considered a legend of the club.
Lede invited Chunga intending to reignite the spirit of the past and inspire a new generation of players.
His visit to Gombami and Antonio was met with great applause, as both players have suffered career setbacks due to injury.
Gombami played for Cercle Brugge before suffering an injury that prematurely ended his career, similar to Chunga.
Both Chunga and Gombami had played for youth teams and the Warriors.
Antonio, on the other hand, was recently injured in a match while doing duty for his club KV Mechelen against Cercle Brugge, which saw him tear his ACL.
At the young age of 21, Antonio’s career was put on hold after he had been enjoying a good run of form.
Despite this setback, Antonio, a graduate of the Prince Edward Academy, has signed with Mechelen until 2027, having previously played for Dynamos before joining Mechelen’s developmental side in 2022.
Mechelen, who have a strong relationship with Dynamos, previously gave the Zimbabwe club an assortment of equipment in 2020 to help improve its technical approach and implement a scientific approach to their methods.
