CHIREDZI FC are still making internal investigations over allegations that their head coach, Moses Chunga, went out of bounds when he took some money after their home match against Dynamos last month.
Yesterday, Chunga could not be reached to shed light on the damaging allegations while Chiredzi FC chairman Charles Makatuwa, could also not be reached.
But sources in Chiredzi said Chunga is being accused of taking nearly US$4 000 from the cashiers’ room during their league match against Dynamos.

The club executive have launched a probe into the issue and their lawyer yesterday advised them to make further investigations before making a public statement.
It’s expected that the club will issue a statement before the end of this week over the internal probe.

Allegations are that Chunga went to the cash room and negotiated for the cash. It is understood that the club treasurer and vice-chairman were present. A representative of the Castle Lager Premiership and police were also present when the coach is said to have signed for the amount.

The sources say Chunga insists he had the right to collect the money to address the welfare of the players and his own welfare.
The Chiredzi players and coaches had not been paid for months.

Chiredzi do not have a major sponsor and survive on the benevolence of the local community. This weekend Chiredzi, who are appealing for sponsors, will host Hwange at Chishamiso.
