Church stands with Zanu PF

MADZIBABA Simbarashe Nengomasha, a prominent leader of Johane Masowe YeChishanu church, has publicly reaffirmed his congregation’s allegiance to Zanu PF and pledged prayers for President Mnangagwa.

The endorsement came during a community donation event yesterday at his Canaan Shrine in Unit J, Chitungwiza, where he distributed mealie-meal and cooking oil to hundreds of his followers and local Zanu PF members from Zone One.

Madzibaba Nengomasha, who commands a substantial following in Chitungwiza and Hwedza, described the aid as supporting the President’s national development goals.

“We are here for national service, which is to pray for the nation,” he said.

“The President’s mantra says no one and no place should be left behind. He also says no one should die of hunger. We are praying for more rains so that hunger is eliminated.”

He also denied any personal political ambitions, emphasising his role as a spiritual leader.

“I cannot be a Man of God, an MP, and a councillor. We should pray for those in office,” he said, adding prayers for President Mnangagwa, “whom God chose to lead us.”

This community outreach follows another recent initiative led by Madzibaba Nengomasha: the construction of a new clinic for villagers in Makurumure, Hwedza.

The event provided aid to nearly 900 beneficiaries.

Veteran musician Knowledge Kunenyati, one of the recipients, praised the gesture.

“We have a good President with a good vision,” Kunenyati said. “Madzibaba Simba does not segregate, just as the President does not. We have all received food and we are happy.”
