Cindy clinches recording deal in Malawi

Lilongwe told The Herald Entertainment that she was head-hunted by Malawi-based Propee Records after her song reached top spot in the Malawian radio charts.
“I will be recording six songs with Propee Record’ renowned producer Percy Manyodza for the next week or so,” she said.
“The album will be called Heartbreak Kid because all the songs focus on the frustrations of love and life in general.”

The record deal will also see the songstress’ album marketed and distributed in Malawi by Propee Records. She added that as part of the deal a video for her brand new single taken off “Heartbreak Kid” titled ‘‘Aint Missing You’’ has already been shot in Malawi by leading music video producer Chipiliro Khonje, who also produced the video for ‘‘Ndidzorere Moyo Wangu’’. It is because of her song ‘‘Ndidzorere Moyo Wangu’ that her career blossomed, making her dream of marketing her music beyond Zimbabwean borders come true.

“This record deal is a step in the right direction because I really want to make my name on the continent, so this is why we are focusing on taking music to other markets,” she said.

The video of ‘‘Ndidzorere Moyo Wangu’’ was of good quality and is being played on DStv’s Channel O. The hit song topped local charts for several weeks and it also has massive hits on YouTube indicating that Zimbabweans from all over the world like it.
The song is about a heartbroken woman who demands her ‘‘heart’’ back from her ex-boyfriend whom she had caught cheating on her.
