Circumcision renders man impotent

A MUTARE man claims that his grandmother used her supernatural powers to sabotage his circumcision procedure and render him impotent.

The botched procedure was done in March.

Tonderai Mundoringisa blames his grandmother, Gogo Sheila Mundoringisa, for the medical error.

Mundoringisa said he has suffered psychological trauma and social stigma as a result of his condition and demands a reversal of his grandmother’s alleged curse.

Repeated efforts to get Gogo Mundoringisa’s comment were fruitless as her contacts were not reachable.

Mundoringisa recently deserted his family and abandoned his lavish lifestyle in South Africa.

He also believes that his wife was recruited to the underworld of witchcraft by his grandmother.

He says the two women unsuccessfully tried to recruit him into sorcery.

In an unsolicited interview with The Weekender last week, the distressed Mundoringisa said he has been useless in bed since his botched circumcision procedure.

He said he learnt that his grandmother was behind his predicament when he visited a white garment prophet.

“After the circumcision procedure, I saw lumps on my sexual organ. I had to squeeze them until pus oozed out. For two weeks, I struggled with the pus. Suddenly boils developed on my private parts and when they healed, my private parts became useless,” he said.

Mundoringisa said he had to consult a prophet over the wounds.

“I was told that my grandmother married me off to a goblin and cursed me. The matter was once dealt with at the late Chief Mutambara’s court. I have been the black sheep of the family and the prophet told me that I harboured all the family’s bad luck.

“My parents died when I was very young and my grandmother had to look after me. She did not like me, but there was no other option, she had to be my guardian.

“I have tried to engage her to assist me, but she insists that everything will be fine in due course.

“The late Chief Mutambara ordered us to consult a traditional healer.

“The traditional healer ordered me to come with my grandmother, but she refused. She gave me a beast to take to the healer and that is how the matter ended, but I am yet to get any help.

“I have come to the Press for help because l know my grandmother will continue shifting goalposts, “ he said.

Contacted for comment, Mundoringisa’s cousin, Tatenda Mundoringisa, confirmed that their grandmother has been fingered in a witchcraft case before.

She, however, accused Tonderai of abusing drugs and blowing everything out of proportion.

“That guy is a drug addict. He deserted his wife in South Africa and fled with their six-year-old daughter to Zimbabwe under the influence of drugs. He would abuse the drugs in the presence of that child. The police were always at his case because he would not let her go to school or play with other children.

“He has been on drugs for a year and talking to him, you will realise that he is not of a sound mind. He accuses everyone of Satanism and witchcraft.

“I think he is now blowing everything out of proportion as he is always high on drugs. Our brother needs rehabilitation, not wasting time and resources consulting traditional or spiritual healers,” said Tatenda.

Mundoringisa confirmed abusing drugs while in South Africa as well as fleeing with his daughter.

“I did not know that what I was taking were drugs, but the truth is that I no longer have any drugs in my system. As l have said, I need spiritual help and not rehabilitation,” he said.
