AS they up their preparations for their maiden tour for the upcoming trip to Dubai for the Gulf Winter Cup Tournament, City Football Academy will tomorrow play as curtain raisers for the Chibuku Super Cup clash between Dynamos and CAPS United.

The Alex Sports Club-based academy will play Dynamos Juniors in an early kick-off and coach Sean Guthrie believes it is a good platform to showcase some of the junior talent in the country.

“We are happy to have managed to get such game time especially against a team of Dynamos Juniors’ calibre, who play in Division Two.

“We are ready for the challenge and it is good for the youngsters as they have an opportunity to showcase their talent. The team is fresh from doing well in Zambia where we had three age groups at an invitational tourney at Fallsway Arena in Lusaka.

“The opportunity gives the players exposure and it also helps them to gain confidence,” said Guthrie.

Academy director Agrippa Guti said his side’s tour to Zambia last week was also good as they prepare for the Dubai Tour.

“I am expecting a lot of positives from the Dynamos Juniors match and it is good that there will be support for the young players from parents and guidance.

“The players need to get used to play before huge crowds and as teenagers I think it is a plus for them to play before such a big match.

“The Harare derby is always big no matter what the teams will be playing for and this being a Cup game it makes it even more interesting. We have some exciting players like Trust Muchemwa, Keith Mupupuni, Donnel Chitima, Takudzwa Shatei and Martin Ndhlovu among several others,” added Guti.

The match kicks off at 11am..

Guti also thanked Petex Branding for their support in promoting grassroots football and urged other business entities and cooperate world to chip in and assist the struggling football development in the country.
