City cut losses

LONDON. — Manchester City halved their financial losses during their to the English Premier League title last season, and hope to avoid breaching Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations again.

City on Wednesday reported losses of £23 million in 2013-14, including a £16 million Uefa penalty due to the previous fiscal year’s losses of £51,6 mil- lion.

City said they expect to make a profit in 2014-15, having slowed the spending initially required to revamp the squad to turn the club into a power after the 2008 takeover by Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan

The member of Abu Dhabi’s ruling family has invested more than £1 billion since the takeover — £160 million alone in the last year. — AFP.
