HARARE City coach Try Ncube is expecting a tough match against Golden Eagles when the MCM Estates Northern Region Soccer League action resumes this week.
The league action had given way to the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup.
City, who are sitting top of the log, are away to sixth-placed Golden Eagles at Ellis Robins tomorrow. City did not take part in the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup first round as it was among the 10 NRSL teams that received a bye.
After a hard-fought victory over Chingwere in a top-of-the-table clash two weeks ago, Ncube and his charges are once again up against formidable opponents.
Eagles are a competitive outfit, however, which had an unusually slow start.
Ncube, a former Highlanders assistant coach, is fully aware of the threat that the Golden Eagles players pose.
“This is going to be another tough game. The NRSL is without doubt the strongest league in the country, with the Eagles being among the league’s top teams.
“We have been working very hard to get the points, as every point counts,” Ncube said.
City are one of the best-supported teams in the NRSL, enjoying the support of their legion of drum-beating followers.
They have a solid defence which has so far conceded only two goals. The strikers are also equally effective as they have so far scored eight goals. In some other matches that are going to be played tomorrow, Karoi United and MWOS Under-19 clash at Chikangwe Stadium, with Black Rhinos hosting Banket United at One Commando. Second from bottom Marere will travel all the way from Sanyati to Bindura for a match against Batanai at Trojan Mine.
Black Mambas are at home against Cranborne Bullets, with PAM and Zambezi Gas and Coal clashing at Muriel Mine.
