CITY Parking officials ‘clamped’ vehicles parked by mourners attending a funeral in Kadoma in a light-hearted scene as they recounted what their late colleague used to do in Harare.
The all-female City Parking officials were in Kadoma to mourn their colleague, Doubt Machipisa, who passed away last week.
He was 50.
His funeral was held at a house in Garikai Annex Section, located along Mutaramanja Road, in Rimuka.
This was on the day of the burial of one of their own, Doubt Machipisa, 50, who passed on the previous Saturday morning.
The officials clamped a number of vehicles and would remove the clamps after getting a certain “payment.”
One motorist said:
“I took it lightly and just gave them a token so that they would remove the clamp on my car. I had no choice, my brother.”
Machipisa cancelled his return to his work station in Harare when he realised he was not feeling well.
His nephew, Nyasha, said:
“At around 3 am I saw our neighbour coming from our house.
“I got anxious and went to inquire.
“That’s when Doubt’s son, Boyca, told me that his father was having health complications.
“We took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.”
