SEASONED campaigners Harare City suffered a setback in their MCM Estates Northern Region Soccer League title push after falling 2-0 to MWOS Under-19 at Ngoni yesterday.

The Sunshine Boys went into the Week 22 encounter occupying second position with 36 points, five behind leaders Black Rhinos, but failed to reduce the gap after conceding twice inside the opening 20 minutes. Victory meant MWOS Under-19 have completed a rare league double over City, having beaten the Municipality outfit 2-1 in the reverse fixture at Callies Sports Club. After conceding early in yesterday’s encounter, Harare City responded by introducing veteran  Issa Sadiki and Victor Mukutairi for Emmanuel Mandiringa and Shaun Chingwerewe during the first half.

Nigel Munezi and Alex Zimunhu were also brought on for George Dzikiti and Liberty Chirombe at the start of the sec-ond half, but MWOS Under-19 protected their advantage to secure maximum points.

The result provisionally lifted MWOS Under-19 from 14th position to ninth on 29 points.
