BULAWAYO will tomorrow hold prayers for rains, days after introducing a 48-hour water shedding regime.
BCC Senior Public Relations Officer Mrs Nesisa Mpofu said the event would be held at the Large City Hall at 10AM.She said the service was open to all residents.
“The City of Bulawayo will on Sunday (tomorrow) celebrate the 73rd Anniversary of the declaration of Bulawayo as a city.
The Civic Service will this year be held at the Large City Hall at 10AM.
“Annually, a divine church service is held at the incumbent Mayor’s church and in this particular case it is going to be conducted by the Seventh Day Adventist Church at the Large City Hall,” said Mrs Mpofu.
“During the service, the prayer points will be prayer for rains, economic situation, moral uprightness, leadership and God fearing youth.”
The church service will be conducted by the Mayor’s chaplain with councillors, council staff and members of the public in attendance.
“The Annual Civic Service Celebration is a service that is directly organised and facilitated by the incumbent Mayor’s church with the assistance from Council staff.
It is a civic function which is open to all residents and we invite the people of Bulawayo to support and display a community spirit,” said Mrs Mpofu
