HARARE Mayor Councillor Jacob Mafume said the City of Harare will honour the late Kiran Jack, who assisted the council with its fire engines, by inscribing his name on a council cement bench and on a fire engine.

Clr Mafume said this during a full council meeting recently. He said Jack used to repair council trucks and supply water when there was a fire or emergency.

“Mr Kiran Jack is one of those people who assisted us with our fire engines for the emergency services group,” he said.

“He was a very good young man. He used to repair our trucks, he used to come with water when there was a fire, whenever there was an emergency.

“His death was untimely. We felt that it was very important that we honour him by inscribing one of our cement benches and inscribing his name on one of our fire engines.”
