She appealed for information that would lead to the arrest of the two robbers.
“Anyone who might know their whereabouts is urged to approach any nearest police station and supply information,” she said.
A source close to the incident said while Thulani Ncube from Nkulumane suburb was at his work place situated along Robert Mugabe Road between Connaught Avenue and Masotsha Ndlovu Avenue in Bulawayo when the pair arrived at the company premises and pretended to be clients.
“While Ncube was attending to one of the robbers, the other one who was waiting to be served drew a gun from his jacket’s pocket and threatened to gun him down and demanded money. Ncube reached for a top drawer of his desk and took out US$4 400 and gave them,” said the source.
They were not done yet, as they attacked him with fists while demanding more money.
“They stamped him on his neck while threatening to kill him. Ncube went to another office, where he fetched US$5 000. After that, they tied him to a table with a wire and left,” said the source.
After a couple of minutes, an unidentified person arrived at the offices and untied him. Ncube phoned his bosses and informed them about the incident. They swiftly arrived. The matter was reported to the police.
