Clinics on Cloud Africa ready to transform healthcare in rural Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe’s journey towards a modern, accessible and preventative healthcare system is gaining momentum, with innovative technology now stepping into communities that have long struggled with access to quality care.

During the recent independence celebrations in Maphisa, the Clinics on Cloud Africa Health ATM was deployed at Maphisa District Hospital, offering a glimpse into the future of primary healthcare delivery.

What stood out most was the machine’s ability to conduct a wide range of diagnostic tests within minutes.

From vital signs to key health indicators, the Health ATM demonstrated how technology can reduce waiting times while improving clinical insight.

Doctors connecting remotely experienced clear consultations, an indication of the clarity and reliability of the system.

Clinics on Cloud Africa addresses this gap by enabling the deployment of a distributed primary care infrastructure across the nation, where diagnostics, consultation, and care coordination occur in a single patient interaction.

The Health ATM brings an array of clinical tools directly to the point of patient need—whether in rural clinics, community centers, or underserved areas.

Speaking on the development, Nyasha Nyamupaguma, CEO of Clinics on Cloud Africa, emphasised the organisation’s commitment to national transformation.

“We want to work with authorities to build the foundation of a new model for primary care across Zimbabwe.

“A model where patients no longer travel long distances for basic care, where chronic conditions are identified earlier—not treated later—and where rural communities receive the same level of access as urban populations. Care must be delivered at the point of need, not the point of infrastructure,” he said.

Unlike traditional telehealth systems that rely solely on video consultations, the Clinics on Cloud Health ATM delivers a fully integrated virtual care station.

It combines diagnostics, real-time consultation, and care coordination into a single, seamless experience.

As Zimbabwe continues to embrace innovation, the Health ATM represents more than just a machine—it is a symbol of progress, access, and a renewed commitment to equitable healthcare for all.
