Club 263 pre-launch party on tonight

Nhlalwenhle Ngwenya—
ALL roads lead to Hartsfield Tshisa Nyama today for the Club 263 pre-launch party. The party will be used as an interaction platform where revellers will have a chance to meet the new club’s management and staff ahead of its launch. So far, Club 263, which opens its doors to the public on August 11, has made its presence known through radical social media marketing strategies which has seen them give away free alcohol to potential revellers. Close to 40 people from Bulawayo have already been employed to work at the new outlet.

Tatenda Gwatidzo, one of the club’s directors, said: “We want to meet people so they can share with us what they expect from the club ahead of the official launch party next week.

“Tshisa Nyama for us was the best place to host our party as we want to treat people to only the best. Some lucky patrons will be treated to free drinks and braai meat.”

Up to 400 beers and ciders as well as 20 whiskey bottles have been secured for the pre-launch, ideally meaning a few people will have to buy drinks during the first few hours of the night.

Gwatidzo said Club 263 (former Cloud Nine) was still being worked on with renovations almost complete.

“We’re putting a new a sound system and repainting the premises to create a vibe that suits Bulawayo nightlife. We’re working around the clock to ensure that we’re done come next week Thursday.”

A mother of all parties will usher in the new nightclub with various DJs and artistes set to entertain patrons over three days. Ladies will be the main attraction as the club opens with a Ladies Night where a lot of freebies including Brazilian weaves, cellphones, deodorants and lingerie will be given away to the best dressed ladies. Entertainment will be provided by the club’s resident DJs, Emity Smooth and Mellow T who will be assisted by hosts Obama, Sharon D and Queen.

On August 12, one of the country’s top producers, Oskid, as well as Harare DJs Fujee and Garry B, Mutare’s DVJ Dreazy, Botswana-based DJ Styles and Bulawayo DJs Nospa, Slimzah, Kead Wikead, Liz, Slamma and Crazy Black will take care of business at what has been dubbed “The longest DJ marathon”.

Closing off the three-day party next week Saturday is Harare’s DJ Rax who will be joined for “Saturday Night’s Party Cruise” by the DJs who will have impressed on Friday.

3D Events who run Tshisa Nyama said they were honoured to be hosting the pre-launch party.

“It’s a good thing that we’re hosting the pre-launch party. For us it translates to more business.

“The fact that they chose our venue means we’re a viable joint, something which is encouraging as it keeps our brand name growing,” said 3D’s Mduduzi Mdlongwa.
