PREMIERSHIP clubs have complied with the PSL directive to get vaccinated against Covid-19, with a number of them having already submitted their certificates, to the league.
The PSL requested the clubs to submit their Covid-19 vaccination certificates, by August 3.
It was the same day the clubs were also supposed to issue out their updated players’ lists, after the close, of the July transfer window.
PSL chief executive, Kenny Ndebele, wrote to the clubs advising them to file their updated lists of players, along with vaccination certificates. “Please let us have your updated players’ lists by Tuesday August 3,’’ he wrote.
“We further request that you furnish us with copies of the players and officials’ Covid-19 vaccination certificates by the above-stated date.
“We are currently preparing an application to commence the Castle Premiership. The application will be submitted to ZIFA. “Please ensure that your registered home ground is ready to host the Castle Lager PSL matches. “If the stadium is not ready to host the matches, you may be forced to play home matches, at a neutral venue.” PSL spokesperson, Kudzi Bare, revealed most of the clubs have since submitted their Covid-19 vaccination certificates. “Vaccination is a way to help prevent the spread of the virus, that is why we are encouraging our clubs to get vaccinated. “In terms of the return of football, we will stand guided by the SRC, however, in the meantime, we will do our best and follow the Covid-19 protocols to ensure that when football returns, it is played in a safe environment.
Some of the clubs who have already sent their Covid-19 vaccination certificates include Dynamos and CAPS United, Herentals, Black Rhinos, Ngezi Platinum Stars and Harare City.
