DAIRIBORD Schools Rugby Festival director Sebastain Garikai has urgedplayers to take up coaching courses being offered at the junior jamboree.
An International Rugby Board Level One course is expected to run today and will be conducted by coach educators Godwin “Jaws” Murambiwa and Brighton Chivandire.
A good number of managers and coaches taking part in the festival have confirmed and so far 20 have confirmed including two women.
The festival caters for Under-19 player but Garikai feels that players also need to take part in the coach educating programmes.
“There are a number of players thaytare over the required age-grade here but are still in schoool.
“It is such players that we hope can take part in such coaching courses to help them develop for the future and could probably help out where they can in their schools,” said Murambiwa.
But this is not the only education programme that participants can take part in.
There are also other awareness programmes and campaings that are running concurently at the fesyival.
The IRB is also running anti-doping campaigns and they also have a tent where they are hosting participants east of the main Jubilee
Field.
On Monday and Tuesday, the Zimbabwe Rugby Referees Society ran disciplinary workshops aimed at reducing ill discipline to the match officials, players and the game at large.
