Colcom appoints new chairman

LISTED meat processor Colcom Holdings Ltd has appointed Mr David Long as the new independent non-executive chairman of its board.

The new development follows the resignation of Mr John Koumides as chairman of the board last year to take up the position of CEO in Axia Corporation.

Colcom and Axia are both associate companies of the Innscor Group. In a statement, Colcom indicated that David’s appointment was a “natural progression”.

“Mr David Long is a highly experienced director of companies who has served on the Colcom board as an independent non-executive director since August 2010,” said the company.

“The Colcom board has unanimously approved the appointment of Mr Long as the independent non-executive chairman of the Colcom board with effect from 31st December 2016.”

The company has also announced the “unanimous” appointment of Ms Mandy Mutuiro as its new finance director, as well as an executive director on the board of directors, with effect also from the December 31, 2016.

Ms Mutiro is a Chartered Accountant with 14 years of accounting and financial experience in the accounting profession and the business sector in the country.

She has spent the last seven years with Colcom. — BH24
