AN Epworth man killed his wife after a misunderstanding over alleged infidelity.

Paul Mutezo was remanded in custody to next month and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.

The court heard that last Sunday, at around 9pm, Mutezo had a misunderstanding with his wife, Tsitsi Munemo, over a case of infidelity.

The issue was seemingly resolved and the couple went to bed.

Mutezo allegedly woke up and tried to go through his wife’s phone.

However, it was locked by a password.

Angered that he couldn’t unlock her phone, Mutezo grabbed an iron bar, and struck his wife on the head several times, while she was sleeping.

She sustained serious head injuries, which she later succumbed to.

Zororai Nkomo appeared for the State.
