Comedians add price increases to the mix

LIFE is a joke but a serious one.
There’s a lot happening in Zimbabwe’s social fabric ranging from economic upheavals, politics and just about anything that matters. In the middle of all that, comedians find material to work with.
Award winning Bulawayo-based comedian Mandla Da Comedian says as comedians they are playing their part to make things easy for the public.

“Laughter is medicine at this moment. Zimbabweans need it the most and as comedians our main aim is to make people laugh themselves out of any situation,” he said.

Another comedian, Clive Chigubu said it is all about allaying people’s fears.

“For me it is always about removing fear from the masses, humour heals so we want to use laughter to heal our beloved nation,” he said.

Harare-based comedian the Comic Pastor last week released a video complaining about price increases.

Instead of pressing on about basic commodities such as cooking oil, he drew laughter by releasing a skit complaining about ice cream.

“I did the video because I wanted people to forget about the struggle of basic commodities and we only want to lighten up the mood,” said Comic Pastor.

It is not only comedians that can make the nation laugh in any situation; Zimbabweans in general always find a way to make fun out of any situation.
