COMEDIENNE and socialite Kudzai “Mbuya VaPiyasoni” Chengedza is on cloud nine after a double nomination for the African Social Entertainment Awards (ASE).
She has been nominated for the Best Skits and Best Social Media Comedian categories.
The ASE Awards, which celebrate the lifestyles and social lives of Africans, were founded in 2018 by OGD Entertainment.
Their main aim is to promote African socialites and artists in the era of growing social media influence.
Mbuya VaPiyasoni has been making waves on social media, as her influence continues to grow.
In an interview with H-Metro, Mbuya VaPiyasoni said she hopes to win the awards.
“It’s not about competition or who is number one but I hope to win these awards since it is a way of appreciating time and craft put in,” she said.
This is not the first time she has been nominated for a prestigious award.
“I have been nominated for different awards, including NAMAs on three occasions, and I have won the Best Comedienne award in Masvingo.
“I am working on many projects such as the remaking of Neria, Becoming Madam Boss and another one still in the pipeline.”
