SOUTH African stand-up comedian Riaad Moosa, known in his home country as the Comedy Doctor, will give Zimbabweans a dose of comedic medicine later this month.
The acclaimed comedian will share his experiences of being a Muslim, doctor and magician in a humorous act at the Zimbabwe Academy of Music in Bulawayo on August 27. But before performing in Bulawayo, he will first perform in Harare at Harry Margolis Hall as part of his Live Africa Tour.
Tickets to the shows which have been pegged at $15 (regular entry) and $25 (VIP) are already available at Brooks Cafe and Colour World.
Earlier this week, Moosa confirmed his performance in Zimbabwe on his Facebook fan page: “As-salamu alaykum (Arabic meaning Peace be upon you) Zimbabwe, Riaad Moosa here. I’m coming back to your awesome country on the 26th and 27th this month. Tickets are on sale now! Don’t miss out!”
Moosa is an award-winning comedian, presenter, writer and actor; and happens to be a qualified medical doctor. He has produced a medical educational show #DOC on eTv, in which he utilises humour to communicate important and practical health promotional information.
He has starred as Ahmed Kathrada in the Oscar and Golden Globe nominated movie Mandela – Long Walk to Freedom.
The last time Moosa held an African tour which he dubbed “Doctor’s Orders”, was in 2013 when he performed for over 35 000 people.
