Relatives of Thembani Ndlovu are increasingly worried about his whereabouts, as well as those of his wife, Colleta, and their twin children. The family, from the Bango area in Makwakwa under Chief Grey Mabhalani Bango in Bulilima district, has been missing since August.

According to relatives, Thembani’s troubles began during the run-up to the recent elections. As a youth in the village, he had assisted some of his friends, who were active members of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), in distributing campaign materials.
Despite never being a member of the party himself, his popularity led to the perception that he was the leader of the group.
“Thembani was a well-liked and respected member of our community,” said his cousin, Sibangani Ndlovu. “He was always willing to lend a hand, and his enthusiasm was mistaken for political allegiance. He never belonged to any party, but his kindness was misinterpreted.”

After the CCC won in the area, Thembani became a target, with some individuals accusing him of being behind the party’s popularity. “Unknown individuals came looking for him at his homestead, but he was not there. We fear for his safety and that of his family,” said Sibangani.
The relatives have reported the matter to the authorities and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. “We just want Thembani, Colleta, and the children to come home safely. We are worried sick,” said Sibangani.
The police have confirmed that they are investigating the matter and are working to locate the missing family. The community remains on edge, hoping for a swift resolution to this worrying situation.
With their mobile phones now rendered unreachable, the family issues a heartfelt plea for assistance in locating the missing couple and their children, underscoring their paramount concern for their safety amidst the shadow of uncertainty looming over their whereabouts.
