A CONDUCTOR, who was taken to court by his ex-wife for maintenance of their eight-year-old child, is refusing to help her get a birth certificate for the child.
Trevor Mukundwa has been dragged to court by Sibongile Dube, his former wife, who is demanding US$200 a month in maintenance.
“He earns a lot of money, I want US$200 from him. Your Worship, if you could help me to get a birth certificate for our child because he is refusing to go with me to get one.
“He is even refusing to give me the birth record,” said Sibongile.
Trevor offered US$20.
“I earn US$70 a month and US$30 is for rent and the remaining US$40 is for my food. I will pay the school fees, but she is refusing to give me the child,” said Trevor.
Magistrate Ayanda Dlamini ordered him to pay US$30 and pay fees directly to the school. She also ordered him to facilitate the process of obtaining a birth certificate for their child.
