Confusion over Mushekwi

have requested to have more time to assess the forward.
Laduma claim Mushekwi will fly back to South Africa tomorrow but KickOff, quoting Sundowns’ officials, say the striker is not expected in Pretoria until Sunday.
Repeated efforts by The Herald to contact either Mushekwi or his manager, Ralph Nkomo, were fruitless yesterday.
Laduma reported yesterday that he will return to South Africa tomorrow with the hopes of moving to Germany after passing his medical earlier this week.
The Siya crew reported that the 25-year-old had impressed during his time with Bundesliga outfit, Greuther Furth, and that he had passed a medical at the club.
Now, the latest news reaching the crew is that he will leave Germany today and arrive back in Mzansi on Friday as the club prepares a proposal for Patrice Motsepe and his management team.
Furth, who recently got promoted from the German second division, are said to have been very impressed from what they’ve seen of the former CAPS United man and are preparing a serious bid to put on the table of Downs’s management.
It remains to be seen whether The Brazilians will be prepared to sell the Zimbabwean and may look to keep hold of the player, despite whatever reasonable offer comes in.
But KickOff were singing a different song.
They reported yesterday that Mushekwi will only be expected to return to South Africa on Sunday after German Bundesliga club FC Nuremburg requested more time to assess the Zimbabwean international.
KickOff said Mushekwi was on trials at Nuremburg and had impressed the Germans with his aggressive style of play.
But while the club believes the 25-year-old player would be well suited for the tough Bundesliga, they want to conduct further assessments of the striker before deciding whether or not to acquire his services.
“They (FC Nuremburg) have requested for an extension of Nyasha’s trials,” Mamelodi Sundowns spokesperson Kableo Mosito tells KickOff.com.
“This means that he will only be back in the country on Sunday. It would therefore be premature to comment on whether or not they are considering putting in an offer for him,” Mosito adds.
Mushekwi’s agent, Nkomo, says Germans have expressed a keen interest in roping in the fast Zimbabwean forward into their ranks and are already preparing an offer for Sundowns to consider. — Sports Reporter/KickOff/Laduma.
