This will be the group’s first outing at the club whose intention is to make jazz a regular feature of their widely popular establishment.
In an interview, manager at the club Andrew Nzombe said they were bringing the veteran musicians to the club in the hope of starting a tradition of jazz and classical music at the club. He said it was their hope that the show would follow the tradition of the reggae nights that they had started holding on Friday nights.
“We have had the reggae nights on Fridays, but we thought that it was about time that we did something for our patrons who might be jazz fans. We hope that this gives birth to a new tradition that will only grow bigger with time,” he said.
Nzombe said the Cool Crooners had promised to give a memorable show for jazz enthusiasts. He said bringing the group to the club was a way of strengthening their reputation as the city’s best club in terms of top notch entertainment.
“The Cool Crooners have promised a show to remember, since this will be their first show at the club and also the first time that we are going to have jazz played at the club. I promise that jazz lovers will not be disappointed by Wednesday’s performance,” he said.
Nzombe said the club will continue pushing the boundaries of innovation in order to keep their place as one of the top clubs in the city.
“We are happy with the success of the club at the moment and we hope that with more innovations, like this upcoming jazz night, the Club Forty40 brand will continue getting bigger,” he said.
