A COP based at Marimba Police Station has been accused of neglecting his child by his ex-wife.

Laura Dhliwayo told the court that her ex-husband, Matthew Matongo, had cut out his child from his life.

She demanded US$150 in maintenance.

“We no longer stay together, but he gets an allowance of US$250.

“I don’t know what his pay is in local currency,” said Laura.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavira asked Dhliwayo to make a reasonable claim since she wasn’t aware of Matongo’s local currency earnings.

Dhliwayo then came down to US$120 and the magistrate granted it.
