A RUSAPE-BASED police officer has launched his second poetry book titled “Wisdom and Foolishness” targeting Christians and non-Christians around the world.

Assistant Inspector Fabian Choto said coming up with the 19 poems was not easy, as it required him to go an extra mile in balancing his work as a police officer and a poet.

The poems in the new book focuses on the life of Christians and encourages non-believers to give their lives to Christ.

Assistant Inspector Choto said the book comes as a reminder for people to always be in control of their day-to-day activities.

In one of the poems, Assistant Inspector Choto writes,

“The mouth of a fool belches foolishness

The lips of the wise give good advice,

The heart of a fool has more to give . . .”

His first publication was “Wajaira”, and it was published in 2017.

The law enforcement officer revealed that he started doing poetry in 1991 when he was in Grade Six at Mhizha Primary School in Highfield, Harare. His passion for poetry grew as he was pursuing his secondary education at Rusununguko High School. He also went to Bulawayo Polytechnic in 2000. During college functions, he would perform for guests.
