CID detectives intercepted a suspected drug peddler before he could make a delivery in Belvedere.

Tonderai Mutizwa was denied bail when he appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi on a drug possession charge.

He will be back in court for his bail application on Friday.

The State said detectives from the Drugs and Narcotics Unit received information that Mutizwa was dealing in dangerous drugs and was on his way to deliver them to a client in Belvedere.

The detectives went to OK Marimba where Mutizwa was looking for transport to make his deliveries.

They searched him and recovered one big transparent sachet with crystal meth.

He was subsequently arrested.

He led detectives to his house where he voluntarily handed two more crystal meth sachets and a digital scale stashed under his bed to the cops.

Zebedia Bofu appeared for the State.
